Beat the Heat This Summer!
 July 18, 2010

Please review the tips below to ensure that you are safe from dehydration and/or heat exhaustion this summer:
  • * Drink lots of water! At least 8 glasses a day; more if you're physically exerting yourself
  • * Dress appropriately for the weather conditions.
  • * Stay away from soda, tea and coffee. The caffeine they contain acts as a diuretic and causes you to urinate quicker.
  • * Do not drink alcohol in the extreme heat; it speeds up dehydration.
  • *Stop working outdoors or exercising if you begin to feel dizzy, light headed, or very tired.
